BrightScale
Language: Japanese
º Web design including Search Engine Optimization
º Marketing writing
BrightScale is a semiconductor company in Sunnyvale.
Their old website was direct translation of their English page, which was hard to read and wasn't organized strategically to potential clients. I recreated the design and writing, not
losing the company's original web frame.

[User's manuals]
Language: Japanese, English, other 17 different languages
Product: Sony
Cyber-shot DSC-F717Media: Printed paper
Sample
User's Manual (English)
Basic Version (Japanese) / Advanced Version (Japanese)
Targeting mass users or particular skilled users, the contents vary depending on the user and marketing analysis.
The contents, design and writing in the manual targeted semi-skilled users as well as beginner users who want to try a digital camera other than automatic. To satisfy wide rage of skilled users, the manual was created based on:
1) visual comprehension
2) good search structure
3) easy-to-understand wording
4) better orders and categorization
5) cross support system with websites.
[Tutorial: Cyber-shot Life]
Language: Japanese and English
Product: Sony Cyber-shot
Media: CD-ROM bundled with the product
Software: Macromedia Flash (now Adobe Flash)
Sample
Some images from Cyber-shot Life due to the Sony copyright policy.

Users honestly don't want to read a manual but want to enjoy it right away. The flash-made tutorial helps the user's wants and don't-wants enjoy the product without feeling irritated to open up a paper manual. The points to make the tutorial are:
1) visual and audio comprehension
2) automatic sequences between chapters
3) easy-to-understand content structure
This tutorial received 1st prize at Japan Manual Contest in 2004.
